FOR ASSOCIATES

Practical guidance and needed motivation

for law firm associates nationwide

Sounding board and motivation

As you work tirelessly to survive law firm life, it can be difficult for you to vent to your co-workers or the supervising partners. Without someone listening to your concerns, the fear of failure, constant frustration and soul-crushing isolation continue to grow. I provide an objective and confidential sounding board to help guide you through difficult situations and motivate you to find happiness, clarity, work/life balance and peace of mind with your legal career.

Mentoring

Many law firm partners do not take the time to properly mentor associates on key topics such as business development, office politics or supervising staff. Additionally, for many non-partner litigators, questions often arise which were not covered in law school (the best way to handle a mediation, develop a case theme/strategy, depose an expert, prepare a case for trial, etc.). There are no stupid questions. I have 25 years of litigation and law firm experience, so I can offer practical guidance in your day-to-day practice to give you the confidence you need to thrive.

Career planning

In order to be happy as a lawyer, you need the right fit within your firm. Whether you need to discuss the pros and cons of changing practice areas, switching supervisors, leaving your firm or leaving the law, I am accessible and passionate about helping you make these crucial decisions to ignite your passion. I will assess your career goals, review the available options with you and help you choose the best path forward to achieve fulfilment with your legal career.

Job searches

If you are ready to change jobs, I can research viable options and help you stand out from the pack with a strong resume and persuasive cover letter. I also prepare you for your job search by conducting a mock interview and giving you practical tips to ace difficult questions. If you receive job offer(s), I help you evaluate the details and give you talking points to maximize your pay and benefits.

Difficult boss or coworkers

Tyrannical partners giving you ridiculous amounts of work with unreasonable expectations? Backstabbing associate down the hall who is making your life hell? Legal staff blowing off your work for the senior partner? I am an independent and confidential third-party (who is not your significant other, coworker or friend), and I help coach you through these difficult workplace situations.

Productivity

In order to make partner in a law firm, you must maximize your productivity and profitability, and it is a balancing act to bill hours, meet collection goals and minimize your time being written off. I help associate attorneys identify their weaknesses, improve their daily habits and set them up to excel in their legal career.

What is your happiness worth?
